One is known as neuroplasticity due to the fact that it is caused by a “wiring change” in the brain. This refers to changes in the connectivity of brain cells to other cells. The other type of neuroplasticity is known as neurogenesis.

But unlike limb growth, neurogenesis can occur throughout the entire body, which explains how you can have a new leg growing back from a new injury and still have a functioning body. Neurogenesis is even more miraculous than the process of limb growth. Just think about it: a new nerve cell is being created all throughout the entire body.
